The October 14th election is approaching and Louisiana voters will have four constitutional amendments on the ballot. Public Affairs Research Council of Louisiana President Steven Procopio says Amendment 1 would ban the use of monetary donations from a nongovernmental or foreign source to administer elections.

Procopio says Amendment 1 is another attempt to solidify that those types of organizations cannot donate to help administer elections. Early voting begins Saturday.

Former Louisiana Automobile Dealers Association President, Will Green has been appointed as the new head of the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry. Green says he’s eager to work with lawmakers to pass legislation that is pro-business.

Green worked at LABI from 2014 to 2016 as their director for civil justice reform and employee relations.

The major Democrat in the governor’s race Shawn Wilson says he has a proven track record of bipartisan leadership to move the state in the right direction. Brooke Thorington has more.

Tangipahoa Sheriff Deputies say 19-year-old Johnathan Kliebert (clay-bear) fatally shot his mother and her dog while they slept on Tuesday. 46-year-old Ashley Kliebert was found dead in the master bedroom with a gunshot wound to her head. The dog was also found shot near her. Authorities say Johnathan Kliebert told investigators he awoke in an angry state and killed his mother and her dog. Johnathan was charged with first-degree murder and other offenses.
