Attorney General Jeff Landry releases the Protecting Innocence Report today. He says it has guidelines for libraries to assure kids cannot access adult materials. At his press conference, Turkey Creek Senator Heather Cloud, who’s filed a bill to require that of public libraries…:

Her bill proposes that libraries who fail to follow the law could lose public funding.

U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy says he hopes President Biden will discuss things Americans are sincerely worried about during tonight’s State of the Union address. Over the last several days, Americans watched a Chinese spay balloon cross the entire country before the White House ordered it shot down. Cassidy says they also watch tens of thousands cross the Mexican border weekly, without restriction or regulation…:

He says Americans are losing hope in government to solve these issues.

 

An Opelousas man has been arrested in connection with the late January break-in at Zoosiana in Broussard, and the theft of several squirrel monkeys. 61-year-old Joe Randall is charged with burglary and animal cruelty. No monkeys have been recovered.

A weird story out of St. Tammany Parish this morning, as a Florida woman, armed with a blowtorch, led police on a high speed chase in a graffiti’ed school bus before crashing it on a parochial school campus. St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Sgt. Suzanne Carboni says it all started at 6 AM when they received a call from a Mandeville gas station…:

That led to her fleeing from deputies and eventually crashing the bus into a fence at the school. 37-year-old Natalie Jarvis, a resident of Florida, faces numerous charges including flight, terrorizing, hit & run and more.
