State Police released more details today on Sunday’s fatal police shooting in Hammond. Trooper William Huggins says Tangipahoa Sheriff deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call and shortly after they arrived 27-year-old Randall Bass barricaded himself in a vehicle and told officers during an hours-long standoff he had an explosive device…

Huggins says officers at the scene shot at Bass when he got out of the vehicle armed with a gun and an explosive.

The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management has designated a Wind Energy Area off the coast of Lake Charles. Congressman Troy Carter says it’s huge and ties in perfectly with the BREEZE Act he sponsored with Congressman Steve Scalise to ensure revenue from offshore wind projects come back to states.

Another company has announced it expects to build a new, clean energy plant in Louisiana IF it meets all the regulatory requirements. Louisiana beat out more than 300 competitors to be the top candidate for the facility. Marsanne Golsby has more.
