Early Voting for the November 8th election ends at 6 PM tonight, and it looks like low turnout among Louisiana’s black voters. Pollster John Couvillon, with JMC Analytics and Polling, says information collected through Saturday indicates only 24 percent of that was by black voters…:

Couvillon says when the black early vote slips below 25 percent, Republicans generally win substantially.

Governor John Bel Edwards is traveling the state this week to discuss how the criminal justice reform laws approved in 2017 have led to a lower recidivism rate and re-directed funds into victim services and other areas of the criminal justice system. House Criminal Justice Chairman Joe Marino believes the Legislature should pass similar reforms to address the spike in juvenile crime…

18 years after Courtney Coco of Alexandria was killed, 46-year-old David Anthony Burns of Boyce was found guilty of killing the 19-year-old. Coco’s body was found in 2004 in an abandoned building in Texas, but prosecutors say she was killed in Alexandria. Burns will be sentenced to life next month, but his attorney Christopher LaCour believes Burns is not guilty.

An Arnaudville man has been arrested after shooting his neighbor’s dog….
