State Attorney General Buddy Caldwell announces the arrest of 36 suspected child predators as a result of a multi-state agency effort:

He says “Operation Broken Heart” was part of a coordinated nationwide effort to apprehend those who engage in child sexual exploitation.

The St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s office says three people are dead, including a 3-year-old little girl, after a fatal domestic situation. Spokeswoman Ginny Higgins says they received a frantic 911 call from one of the victims, 72-year-old Leola Blanchard, who advised that she’d been shot by her husband, 58-year-old Clifford Blanchard…:

She said Clifford Blanchard apparently also shot and killed his 3-year-old granddaughter before being fatally shot by his son, 32-year-old Scott Blanchard who was also injured. The investigation is ongoing.
