Shreveport Police are currently investigating the tragic death of a 1-year-old child. Authorities say the little girl was asleep in her bed when her 2-year-old sister began climbing on a dresser. They say the dresser fell on the 1-year-old, killing her. Detectives report the children’s mother was asleep in another room when the accident occurred. It is not known, at this time, if any criminal charges will be filed.

Former US Representative Jeff Landry of New Iberia receives the endorsement of US Representative Steve Scalise of Metairie in his quest to become the state’s next Attorney General. Landry faces fellow Republicans incumbent Attorney General Buddy Caldwell and 18th Judicial District assistant attorney Martin Maley.
