After the rally, some of the students went inside the capitol to talk with lawmakers.

The Senate Education committee approves legislation that would prevent the suspension or expulsion of a student between Kindergarten and third grade, unless the child posed a threat to the safety of the school. Author, Baton Rouge Senator Sharon Weston Broome, says when you send a child that young home, they aren’t getting an opportunity to learn.
