Authorities say Collins is not considered a suspect in this case but the situation raised enough concern among teams that he was not selected in last night’s first round of the NFL Draft.

The Saints had two picks in last night’s first round. With the number 13 pick, the Black & Gold selected offensive lineman Andrus Peat from Stanford. Peat was an A.P. second team All-American selection last season, as well as an Outland Trophy finalist. The Saints also picked up inside line backer Stephone Anthony from Clemson. Anthony was a first team All-ACC selection last year.

Third baseman Conner Hale’s two run double in the top of the 14th gave top ranked LSU a 5-3 victory over Mississippi State. This is the Tigers seventh extra-inning game this season, and their fourth win in those contests. Jake Godfrey gets the win on the mound for LSU, his seventh of the season, while Trevor Fitts gets tagged with the loss for the Bulldogs. The win also marks the 400th career LSU victory for coach Paul Mainieri. These two teams will take the field again tonight at 7. It will be televised on ESPNU.

Elsewhere on the college diamond, Louisiana Tech hosts a three game series against Texas-San Antonio.

In the Southland Conference, UNO welcomes Abilene Christian, Nicholls State has a three-game home stand against Houston Baptist, Lamar is in Hammond to face Southeastern Louisiana, Stephen F. Austin takes on McNeese State, and Northwestern State travels to South Bend, Indiana to meet Notre Dame.

In Sun Belt action, UL-Lafayette looks to extend its seven game winning streak when they take on Appalachian State and ULM hosts Troy.
