LSU’s Pennington Biomedical Research Center needs 350 adults to help them get to the bottom of just why exercise actually improves your health. Associate Executive Director for Clinical Science at Pennington Dr. Eric Ravussin says they’ll need 300 adult volunteers who are sedentary but still in good health, and 50 highly active adults who focus on either endurance or resistance training.

Governor John Bel Edwards spoke with equal pay advocates this morning, hoping to find a way forward in a state with the largest recorded pay gap in that nation, with women earning 69 cents to every dollar a man makes.  Some argue that women take off more time from work due to maternity leave, therefore it justifies the pay gap, but Edwards disagrees.

LSU’s Pennington Biomedical Research Center is taking part in a nationwide research project that seeks to dig down to the molecular level to find out why exercise provides health benefits. Associate Executive Director for Clinical Science at Pennington Dr. Eric Ravussin says they’ll be creating a comprehensive molecular map of what happens when people exercise, and how it impacts health.

The study will feature 1,980 participants across the US at 11 different sites.

Edwards says in the Bayou State the average pay disparity is 69-cents to every dollar and adds the majority of the voters in Louisiana are for equal pay and want the legislature to pass legislation.

The NFL is not happy that former LSU Tiger Odell Beckham Junior was wearing a 350-thousand dollar watch while playing in yesterday’s game. That violated a rule that prohibits players from wearing hard objects. Beckham caught seven passes in the Browns 43-13 loss to Tennessee.

Dr. Aditya Bansel (Ah dee tee yuh Bon-sull) lead physician of the historic transplant, says in order to have a successful outcome they have to find a proper match.

The Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control says they’ve permitted 775 Louisiana businesses to sell CBD products. The state agency has received over one-thousand permit applications since legislation was approved that set up the regulatory structure. Retailers must follow a long list of requirements to receive a permit.

Quarterback Joe Burrow threw for 471 yards, the second-highest total in school history, and three receivers had more than 100 yards in a single game for the first time in program history. A win tonight for the Saints and they are in first place in the NFC South. Minnesota thumped Atlanta 28-12, San Francisco defeated the Buccaneers 31-17 and the Rams held off Carolina 30-27. After tonight’s game against the Texans, the Saints head west to take on L-A Rams and Seattle on back-to-back Sundays.
