LSU’s new spread offense is legit. The sixth ranked Tigers went into a hostile environment on Saturday night and left Texas with a 45-38 victory over the 9th ranked Longhorns. Quarterback Joe Burrow threw for 471 yards, the second-highest total in school history, and three receivers had more than 100 yards in a single game for the first time in program history. Justin Jefferson had nine catches for 163 yards and three touchdowns

The Saints face the Houston Texans tonight in the Superdome to kick off the season. New Orleans is looking to avoid its sixth consecutive Week 1 loss. A win tonight for the Saints and they are in first place in the NFC South. Minnesota thumped Atlanta 28-12, San Francisco defeated the Buccaneers 31-17 and the Rams held off Carolina 30-27. After tonight’s game against the Texans, the Saints head west to take on L-A Rams and Seattle on back-to-back Sundays.
