Research professor Mark Wilson says when the spill occurred, there were concerns that shrimp would be contaminated by a class of chemicals that can pose health hazards…

Wilson says they also surveyed over one-hundred Vietnamese residents in New Orleans East that tend to eat more shrimp than most people and that helped them reach the conclusion that Gulf shrimp are safe to eat

A two year-old toddler is dead following a tragic mid-morning house fire in Baton Rouge yesterday. Firefighters found Marques Veals body was found in the kitchen of the wood frame house. Two adults were able to get out, while the boy’s grandfather tried unsuccessfully to rescue the little boy. That fire is under investigation.

About 150-thousand people are expected on campus for the game. LSU is asking fans to arrive on campus early as traffic is expected to be heavy in the hours leading up to the game.

A single car crash just before 7am has claimed the life of a Duson woman. State Police suspect 27 year-old Sarah Leblanc was impaired as she ran off Louisiana Highway 342, through a ditch, then crashed through a building. The vehicle then burst into flames.

The big game of the season has arrived for the LSU Tigers as they will host the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday night in Tiger Stadium. No one can argue that the Tide doesn’t have the advantage at the quarterback position. Senior Blake Sims has thrown for two-thousand yards and he’s rushed for 250 yards and five scores. LSU Sports Radio Network color analyst Doug Moreau says Sims is a tough assignment for LSU…
