A two year-old toddler is dead following a tragic mid-morning house fire in Baton Rouge yesterday. Firefighters found Marques Veals body was found in the kitchen of the wood frame house. Two adults were able to get out, while the boy’s grandfather tried unsuccessfully to rescue the little boy. That fire is under investigation.

 

The LSU Health New Orleans School of Public Health has been awarded a $2.2 million grant to increase the availability of health information and support services for young breast cancer survivors in the Gulf South. Project Coordinator Helen McMillan says they were one of seven sites awarded grants from the CDC…
