LSU’s leading receiver Travin Dural could reportedly miss Saturday night’s game against ULM. Police records indicate Dural was involved in a car accident on Saturday after the game and needed stiches. At this point, it’s difficult for him to wear a helmet because of the stitches.

Fans of the ULM Warhawks are getting geared up for the game against LSU this weekend in Baton Rouge. Michelle Southern reports….

The Associated Press is reporting that a law enforcement official has come forward to say a copy of the video showing Ray Rice punching his then finance in a casino elevator was delivered to an NFL executive in April. Commissioner Roger Goodell has said they had not been able to see the video, until TMZ released it this week.

Other NFL news, Saints wide receiver Kenny Stills was listed as limited at practice today, because of a quad injury. Cornerback Keenan Lewis and linebacker Curtis Lofton were also limited because of injuries. New Orleans is preparing for Sunday’s game against Cleveland. Browns linebacker and former LSU Tiger Barkevious Mingo did not practice today because of a shoulder injury.

Louisiana Tech released its men’s basketball schedule for the upcoming season this year. The Bulldogs will play 15 games at the Thomas Assembly Center. They’ll also visit national-power Syracuse on December 14th and North Carolina State on December 23rd.

So far this season, LSU has shown the ability to make big plays through the air, even though the offense features new quarterbacks and several freshmen receivers. Sophomore wide receiver Travin Dural says they knew what was expected out of them this year…

Saturday’s game against LSU is the first of three against SEC opponents for ULM. Warhawks Atheltics director Brian Wickstorm says ULM will receive about three-million dollars to play SEC foes this year…

The Ragin Cajuns face a tough test this Saturday as they attempt to get back in the win column. U-L Lafayette will visit 14th ranked Ole Miss, who has outscored their two opponents by a score of 76-16. Coach Mark Hudspeth is glad to be taking on one of the best teams in the SEC….

The Rebels two wins this year are against Boise State and Vanderbilt.

Southeastern Louisiana looks to make a statement this Saturday when travel to New Orleans to play Tulane. The Lions are ranked third in the FCS polls, but the school has never defeated a school from the Football Bowl Subdivision.

Louisiana Tech leaves today for Denton, Texas, where they’ll play at North Texas tomorrow. The Bulldogs are looking to follow up last Saturday’s win at UL Lafayette with a victory on the road to begin conference play.

LSU sophomore wide receiver Travin Dural (Trey-vin Der-al) is developing into an explosive playmaker for the Tigers. The former Breaux Bridge star already has 291 receiving yards, which is the most ever by an LSU player after two games. Dural says he’s been able to develop a strong chemistry with starting quarterback Anthony Jennings…:

The Ragin Cajuns football team is trying to regroup, after an ugly loss to in-state rival Louisiana Tech this past Saturday. The Bulldogs beat the Cajuns 48 to 20 on their home field. Coach Mark Hudspeth says looking back at it, he believes his team wasn’t focused on Tech, instead they were worried about the big picture…:

The Cajuns face a tough test this Saturday as they attempt to get back in the win column with a visit to 14th ranked Ole Miss.

LSU defensive back Jalen Mills is scheduled to be arraigned on October 14th according to court documents. Mills is charged with simple battery for allegeldy hitting a woman earlier this year. He plans to plead not guilty.

The Saints will return to the practice field tomorrow, looking to correct the mistakes that led to Atlanta putting up 568 yards of total offense. Coach Sean Payton says missed tackles and poor communication led to the defensive breakdown. He says the inability to get more pressure on Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan was also a problem….

At the FIBA Championships, Team USA defeated Slovenia 119 to 76. Pelicans star Anthony Davis had a double-double, 13 points and 11 rebounds. Lithuania is up next for the Americans in a semi-final match-up.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested a former LSU football player for allegedly choking his girlfriend. 25-year-old DeAngelo Peterson was booked on one count of simple battery. Spokeswoman Casey Rayborn Hicks says deputies responded to a call from an apartment on Nicholson Drive…

Peterson was an LSU tight end from 2008-2011. Hicks says Peterson claims the victim grabbed a knife during the argument and that he grabbed her shirt in an attempt to disarm her.

In other LSU news….Tigers quarterback Anthony Jennings leads the nation in passing yards per attempt and completion. Jennings is averaging 26 yards per completition.

Ragin Cajuns Coach Mark Hudspeth believes senior receiver Jamal Robinson will play Saturday against 14th ranked Ole Miss. Robinson missed most of Saturday’s loss to Louisiana Tech with a leg injury.

The LSU Tigers and ULM Warhawks will face off on Saturday night in Tiger Stadium. Tigers coach Les Miles is impressed with some of the Warhawk play makers on offense….

One of those receivers, Ajalen Holley was named the Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week. He had 175 receiving yards in the Warhawks win over Idaho on Saturday.

Louisiana Tech’s Kenneth Dixon has been named the Conference USA Offensive Player of the week. Dixon had 184 rushing yards and two touchdowns in the Bulldogs big win over U-L Lafayette.

And McNeese State’s Aaron Sam was named the Southland Defensive Player of the week. The senior had a 98-yard interception return for a touchdown against Nebraska.

ULM wide receiver Ajalen Holley has been named the Sun Belt Offensive Player of the week after posting a career high 175 yards in Saturday’s 38-31 win over Idaho. Kenneth Dixon of Louisiana Tech is the Conference USA offensive player of the week after his 99-yard-touchdown run Saturday in the 48-20 win at Louisiana-Lafayette.

Back to honors, in the Southland Conference Aaron Sam picked up defensive player of the week with his 98 yard interception return for TD in the Cowboy’s narrow 31-24 loss to Nebraska. SLU’s Ryan Adams got Southland special teams player of the week.

The Saints will look to rebound from a tough season opening loss to Atlanta when they visit Cleveland this Sunday. New Orleans Coach Sean Payton says it’s important the players do not allow this loss to linger…:

The Saints are spending today trying to recover from Sunday’s hard fought overtime loss to Atlanta. New Orleans’ defense is taking a good portion of the blame as they gave up 568 yards in total offense to the Falcons. Saints linebacker Curtis Lofton says they can’t let this loss linger….

The Saints players will have tomorrow off and then they’ll get ready for their next opponent. New Orleans will visit the Cleveland Browns this Sunday. The Browns rallied back from a 24-point deficit against Steelers, but Pittsburgh ended up winning that game 30 to 27.

Two more NFL games tonight…Eli Manning and the Giants are at Detroit and Patrick Peterson and the Cardinals host San Diego.

LSU had a chance to show off both of their quarterbacks in Saturday night’s rout over Sam Houston State. Starter Anthony Jennings threw for three touchdowns and back-up Brandon Harris rushed for a score and threw a TD. Jennings says the team has confidence in both quarterbacks…

The loss spoiled a nice NFL debut performance from rookie wide receiver Brandin Cooks, who had seven catches, including one for a touchdown.

Elsewhere in the NFC South…Carolina held on to beat Tampa Bay 20 to 14. New Orleans is at Cleveland next Sunday. The Browns lost to Pittsburgh 30 to 27. Johnny Manziel did not play for Cleveland.

LSU Quarterback Anthony Jennings took another step forward in the Tigers 56 to nothing win over Sam Houston State on Saturday. Jennings threw for 188 yards and three touchdowns, all of them went to his favorite target Travin Dural. Here’s Jennings after the game…

One of the bigger upsets this past weekend in college football happened in Lafayette as Louisiana Tech trounced the Ragin Cajuns 48-20. The Bulldogs had 533 total yards and they were led by quarterback Cody Sokol, who threw for 295 yards and two touchdowns. Sokul says it was a great performance in a rivalry game

The NFL season is off to a tough start for the Saints who lost in overtime 37 to 34 to NFC South Rival Atlanta. New Orleans gave up 568 total yards, the second most in franchise history, but still had a chance to win it. However a Marques Colston fumble in overtime, set up Matt Bryant’s game winning 52-yard field goal. Quarterback Drew Brees says it was another classic Saints-Falcons game…

Brees threw for 333 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Rookie wide receiver Brandin Cooks had a nice NFL debut as he caught 7 passes for 77 yards and a touchdown. The Black and Gold are at Cleveland next Sunday.

LSU had no trouble beating Sam Houston State 56-0 on Saturday as several true freshmen got into the scoring act. Malachi Dupre, Darrel Williams, Brandon Harris and Leonard Fournette all scored their first touchdowns. Fournette struck the Heisman pose after his score, something head coach Les Miles didn’t like….

The Warhawks are off to a 2-and-0 start on the 2014 season after winning their Sun Belt opener over Idaho 38-31, Centarius Donald rushed for 111 yards and three touchdowns, including the game winning score in the final seconds.

Kenneth Dixon had a 99-yard touchdown run as Louisiana Tech thumped the Ragin Cajuns 48 to 20. McNeese State almost pulled off the biggest upset of the weekend, but came up short and lost to Nebraska 31-24.

LSU fans will walk into a newly expanded stadium on Saturday as the Fighting Tigers host Sam Houston State at 6:30. Capacity inside Death Valley is now over 102-thousand and Sports Information Director Michael Bonette says they’ve also done things to improve the fan experience inside the stadium…

Bonnette says they will also use contraflow on Nicholson Road heading south to help alleviate traffic congestion after the game.

Tulane University will play its first football game on Saturday in its brand new campus stadium. The Greenies will host Georgia Tech. In Hammond, Southeastern Louisiana will host Southern Utah at 7 P-M. Sun Belt play begins for ULM as the Warhawks will host Idaho at six P-M. The Vandals were one-and-11 in 2013 and it’s unclear who they will start at quarterback.

Louisiana Tech and U-L Lafayette will resume their rivalry in football on Saturday when the two teams meet in Cajun Field. It’s first time they’ve played since 2004 and U-L-L Coach Mark Hudspeth wants a win over their in-state foe….
