A 26 year-old Natchitoches man was shot and killed yesterday in a shooting involving Nachitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies who were trying to serve a protective order. Authorities say Robert Vercher and deputies exchanged gunfire and Vercher was hit several times. He was transported to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.

The report used DNA testing to examine 143 shrimp products and found that 30-percent were falsely labeled in 111 grocery stores and restaurants. The study also found that 40-percent of shrimp samples were species not known to be sold in the United States.
