The Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office believes a man is dead after apparently drowning while tubing on the Bogue Chitto River. They say 32-year-old Edmond Adams, a Prairieville native living in New Orleans, was tubing with a group of friends when he lost control of his tube and disappeared under the water. Adams never resurfaced. Search crews were unable to find Adams’ body yesterday. The search continues today.

Governor Jindal is meeting with voters in New Hampshire today after kicking off his presidential campaign yesterday in Kenner. The governor says if he gets to the White House, he plans on making big changes…

The St. Helena Parish Sheriff’s Office says a teenager is dead after his tractor rolled off a bridge and landed on top of him. They say 17-year-old Zachary Henry of Amite was driving over a narrow wooden bridge when the tractor veered too close to the side of the bridge and broke the planks. The tractor rolled off the bridge and landed on top of Henry in a ditch. Henry was pronounced dead at the scene.

Tulane University Business Professor, Dr. Mark Rosa, says people should take more interest in their finances because, after all, it is your own money…

Two former LSU basketball players are expected to be selected in tonight’s NBA draft. Former Tiger hoops star and current color analyst on the LSU Sports Radio Network, Ricky Blanton, says Jarrell Martin and Jordan Mickey could be selected late in the first round, but he says Martin’s stock has fallen since he’s not participated in a lot of five-on-five and three-and-three workouts…

But Blanton says Mickey’s stock has been on the rise, because of good pre-draft workouts. By the way, the Pelicans will get the 56th pick in this year’s draft.

Former LSU shortstop Alex Bregman has signed with the Houston Astros. Houston selected Bregman with the second overall pick in the Major League Baseball Draft. His signing bonus is reportedly around six million dollars. The Astros have also announced the signing of left-handed pitcher Zac Person. The former LSU reliever was picked in the ninth round by Houston.

LSU’s 2016 baseball schedule has been released. The Tigers will have weekend non conference series against Cincinnati, Sacramento State, Fordham, and Ball State. They’ll host Vanderbilt during the second weekend of April and they have a two-game road trip to Notre Dame planned in may. Coach Paul Mainieri used to coach in South Bend.

Virginia claims their first College World Series title after defeating Vanderbilt last night 4-2. The Cavaliers finish the season with a 44-24 record. Their 44 wins are the fewest by a national championship team since 1968.

The estranged heirs to Saints and Pelicans Owner Tom Benson have announced they will appeal last week’s ruling by a judge, who determined the 87-year-old is not mentally incompetent to run his professional franchises. According to an attorney for the heirs, Benson is in a foggy state and his condition will only continue to get worse.

For the second straight year, Lutcher High School’s bulldog mascot has been stolen. It’s reported that the bulldog named Spike went missing Tuesday morning. St. James Sheriff Willy Martin says his deputies are searching for the dog.

After his appearance announcement in Kenner this afternoon, tomorrow, Jindal has national cable TV interviews scheduled, including Fox News and CNN, along with some New Hampshire speeches.

The ousted heirs New Orleans Saints and Pelicans owner Tom Benson have filed an appeal in the interdiction for control of the 87 year-old’s billion-dollar empire, claiming Benson remains in a quote- “foggy state.” Wednesday’s appeal comes after Orleans Parish Civil District Court Judge Kern Reese denied the heirs’ petition last week.

Governor Bobby Jindal has officially announced that he’s running for president. Jindal made the announcement on social media today with videos of him breaking the news to his children. The announcement ceremony is today at 4pm in Kenner.

The St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s office is investigating a fatal domestic situation in which a man shot his wife, son and 3-year-old granddaughter before being shot and killed by his son. Spokeswoman Ginny Higgins says says it appears that 58-year-old Clifford Blanchard fatally shot his wife Leola and also shot and injured his son, 32-year-old Scott Blanchard..:
