Several hundred George Floyd protesters gathered on Interstate 10 near the Superdome in New Orleans last night, stopping traffic in both directions. There was a large police presence there, but no violence. And at one point, police officers took a knee with protesters.

In 2016, after two white police officers were involved in the fatal shooting of Alton Sterling, we saw clashes between police and protesters, but that has not happened in Louisiana in the wake of Floyd’s death. Ronnie Jones is out as chairman of the state’s gaming control board as the Louisiana Senate refused to confirm his re-appointment. Casino Association of Louisiana executive director Wade Duty says Jones was a great friend to the gaming industry.

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is offering a six-thousand dollar reward for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for fatally shooting a black bear in St. Mary Parish last month.
