41-year-old Saints QB Drew Brees announces on his Instagram that he will return for the 2020 season after taking some time to consider retirement. Drew will need to be resigned to return to the team. Saints analyst Mike Detillier says the big question is does he cut the team a break, or demand the kind of money he’s used to making.

Detillier says this likely spells the end of Teddy Bridgewater’s time in New Orleans.

Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon breaks down the legislation he supports that are aimed at slicing auto insurance rates.  Donelon says he wants to lower jury thresholds to $5,000.  In the 13 states that have a jury threshold, Louisiana’s is the highest at $50,000.

The second highest is Maryland with $15,000.

President Trump has pardoned former San Francisco 49ers owner Eddie DeBartolo Junior who in 1998 pleaded guilty to failing to report a felony when he paid 400-thousand dollars to former Louisiana Governor Edwin Edwards. DeBartolo testified against Edwards in the corruption trial that resulted in the former four-term governor spending 8.5 years in federal prison. Edwards says prosecutors needed DeBartolo’s false testimony in order to convict him

DeBartolo avoided prison time.

Shreveport Police has charged 37-year-old Gregory Jones for the Sunday night fatal shooting death of his girlfriend 43-year-old Tasha Mayberry. After shooting Mayberry, Jones allegedly fled but detectives got word he was hiding out in an apartment complex.  Corporal Angie Willhite says when officers arrived to the scene they determined he was in a vacant apartment.
