In other news, one person died and three others were injured in a military helicopter crash at Fort Polk in Vernon Parish.

Three St. Tammany Parish deputies were involved in a fatal shooting in LaCombe last night. Authorities say the deputies went to a home to take a man with suicidal tendencies to a hospital when lethal force was used.

The US Commerce Department says fishing disasters have taken place in seven states, including Louisiana. Congress recently appropriated 165-million dollars to help anglers and businesses who suffered losses. LDWF Biologist Administrator Jason Froeba says it’s unclear how much the state will get, but he says shrimpers, oyster farmers and fishermen have been hurt by the lengthy opening of the Bonnet Carre Spillway…
