Opelousas police have charged a man with aggravated cruelty to animals after he allegedly left his dog in a car while he gambled for six and a half hours at Evangeline Downs Casino. Byron Badeaux says he forgot the dog was inside the vehicle. The deceased dog’s remains were turned over to an Opelousas Animal Control officer.
