State Police is investigating a accident on US 90 near Youngsville that has claimed the life of a pedestrian. Authorities say 48-year-old Brian Bearden of Youngsville was walking across the highway when he was hit by a vehicle. Bearden was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead. They say a chemical test was given to the driver of the vehicle and it determined that he was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the accident.

Superintendent Col Mike Edmonson is saying thanks to the more than 100,000 followers State Police have on Facebook heading into 2015. Edmonson says they worked hard to get over 100,000 before the end of the year and it’s gone above and beyond. He says they pledge to continue providing real time updates…

Shreveport Police has arrested a man in connection with a late night shooting that left one dead and another injured. When officers responded to a report of shots fired last night, they found two men shot in the parking lot of a local liquor store. They say one man, who was shot in the chest, was pronounced dead at the scene. Another was transported to a local hospital with a wound to his hand. 36-year-old Jertorrez Harris is charged with one count of convicted felon in possession of a firearm in connection with the shooting.
