The Governor signs legislation that allows families to put cameras in their relative’s nursing home rooms. Kevin Barnhart has the story.

The Caddo Sheriff’s office arrested a young couple from central Louisiana who allegedly left their two small children in a vehicle with the air conditioning running, while they were inside the courthouse getting a marriage license. Twenty-three-year-old Courtney Carroll of Ball and 22-year-old Garrett Poole of Pollock were charged with child desertion.

Governor John Bel Edwards has signed several bills that strengthen Louisiana’s laws against hazing. Under the legislation, a person can be sentenced up to five years in prison if hazing results in death or a serious injury, also colleges are now required to teach students about the dangers of hazing and organiziations that knowingly allow hazing can face fines. Edwards says work on this issue must continue…

Tomorrow we’ll see high temperatures in the mid to upper 90s as the hot weather gets turned up a notch this wekend. But State Climatologist Barry Keim says a hot start to the summer, doesn’t mean we’ll see above-normal temperatures continue into July or August…
