Legislation that would have raised the minimum wage from $7.25 per hour to $8.00 in 2019 and $8.50 an hour by 2020 died on the Senate floor last night. LSU tuition is over seven-thousand dollars, so some TOPS students would have to pay over three-thousand dollars in tuition costs under the legislation that was defeated.
