An early flu season continues to be a big problem in Louisiana. Doctor Frank Welch with the state health department says one out of every ten doctor visits result in a flu diagnosis. Welch says avoid close contact with people who are sick and it’s easy to know when a flu victim is no longer a threat to pass it to someone else….

The statewide average price for a gallon of regular gasoline is $2.27 that’s up nearly a nickel from a week ago and it’s the highest new year gas prices since 2014.
