Sasol says it is no longer economical to build a 15-billion dollar gas-to-liquids plant in the Lake Charles area, because of the low price of oil and volatile marketplace. The project was announced in 2012 when the price of oil was well above 90-dollars a barrel. Sasol still plans on finishing its 11-billion dollar ethane cracker complex, which is about 80-percent done.
