Lake Charles Police Chief Don Dixon says a former Angola inmate is responsible for a shooting that killed a 10-year-old boy and wounded his 17-year-old brother. Dixon says 50-year-old Felton Thompson has been charged with first-degree murder and he’s already served time for an armed robbery….

The state department of health has filed a law suit against several opioid manufacturers claiming they are responsible for the escalating opioid crisis. The suit alleges the drug companies fradulently marketed the risks and benefits of prescription opioids.

With aid slow to come to hurricane-ravaged Puerto Rico, Governor John Bel Edwards is asking Louisiana residents to donate diapers, non-perishable formula, baby wipes, bottles and nipples along with feminine care products.
