Half of the 2.9 million registered voters in Louisiana cast a ballot for the November 4th election. Secretary of State Tom Schedler says even though that was his prediction, he’d hoped to be wrong. He says despite the 50% turnout, he’s happy there were very few issues yesterday..:

He says they hope to have a good turnout and for things to run smoothly again for the runoff December 6th.

Even though Republican’s seized control of the Senate after last night’s mid-term primary elections, you should still expect the party to spend significant money in Louisiana’s Senate runoff between Mary Landrieu and Bill Cassidy. Political consultant Roy Fletcher says Democrats can’t afford not to pump some money in Landrieu’s favor…:

Most political analysts believe Cassidy will easily beat Landrieu in the runoff.

And in the 6th District Democrat Edwin Edwards will be taking on Governor Bobby Jindal’s former Coastal Advisor Garrett Graves. The former Governor accuses Graves of being frivolous with money when he worked under the Jindal administration and says he has some surprises up his sleeve. Graves says the past is the past and their campaign will focus on Louisiana’s future.
