Congress has recessed for the summer and many lawmakers are disappointed not much was accomplished. U.S Senator John Kennedy believes some good was done with the approval of Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court. But he says his biggest disappointment was the failing to repeal and replace Obamacare by one vote…:

Kennedy says his plan for tax reform would be to cut everyone’s tax bracket by two-percent.

Today is the 90th birthday of former four-term Governor Edwin Edwards and he’s still going strong. During an appearance on Talk Louisiana, Edwards credits his long life to good genes, as two of his grandparents lived to be over 100-years-old….:

A birthday bash for the former governor is planned for August 12th at the Renaissance Hotel in Baton Rouge.
