A State Police spokesperson tells us a state transportation worker was killed when struck by a pickup truck near New Iberia this morning while performing road work on LA 31. We’ll have more as this story develops.

It will be a hot Fourth of July holiday as the National Weather Service is calling for heat indices of 100-degrees or more.
