Just one month away from her trial date, 19-year-old Brittany Monk pleads guilty to manslaughter in the death of 47-year-old Robert Noce. Monk and her fiancé, 23-year-old Jace Crehan, allegedly stabbed Noce and strangled him with a belt because she says he molested her as a child.

The LSU AgCenter receives nearly a million dollars from the USDA for honeybee research. Entomologist Kristen Healy says they’ll look at mite populations in the hives because Varroa mites can be devastating to honeybee colonies.

Healy says one out of every three bites of food we eat relies on bees for pollination.
