Former state Wildlife and Fisheries Secretary Robert Barham defended his spending practices before lawmakers amid allegations he misappropriated BP funds while in office. Barham admits LDWF made unusual purchases, like three metal shark boats.

A team of LSU engineers is in California testing out a pod that can travel 500 to 600 miles per hour inside a vacuum tube. LSU Civil and Environmental Engineering Assistant Professor Aly-Mousaad Aly is the team’s faculty adviser says they’re eager to see how fast the pod will actually travel.
