UL Lafayette Political Science Professor Pearson Cross says the race for the 3rd Congressional district seat is really heating up between the two Republicans, Scott Angelle and Clay Higgins. He says the stakes are higher than expected in this election.

Tonight’s Powerball jackpot has reached $403 million, that’s a cash value of $243.8 million. Louisiana Lottery Spokesperson Kim Chopin says she expects a lot of people will buy tickets for tonight’s drawing because they’re already out shopping.

Chopin says this is the 9th largest jackpot in Powerball history.
