The USGS and NASA conducted a survey and found the 2010 Deepwater Horizon spill caused widespread shoreline loss across areas affected with oil. USGS Research Oceanographer Elijah Ramsey says the study also found some wetlands received treatment after the spill but it proved not to be helpful.

Ramsey says this is an important study and should not just be a onetime thing.

The consulting firm Deloitte released a report finding the internet is now the top spot for consumers to do their holiday shopping. But Executive Director for the Louisiana Retailers Association Dawn Johnson still encourages shoppers to get out and shop at your local brick and mortar stores.
