Donald Trump is positioned to win the presidential race in Louisiana, according to a new poll from Southern Media and Opinion Research. Pollster Bernie Pinsonat says Trump still has a strong lead over Hillary Clinton, with only 12 days to go until Election Day.

Pinsonat says 8-percent of voters are still undecided.

Lawmakers will visit offshore oil and gas facilities as part of a two-day tour of Louisiana’s coast that begins today. Houma Representative Jerome Zeringue says the primary purpose of the trip is to help the oil and gas industry coexist with coastal restoration.

There will also be an offshore energy roundtable in Port Fourchon.

A senior football player in Union parish is suing the LHSAA over a rule that does not allow him to play his senior year because he was held back in the sixth grade. The student’s attorney Brian Blackwell says the student was held back because he has ADHD, and he is confident the court will rule in their favor.

The 110th Louisiana State Fair in Shreveport is now underway. Fair president and general manager Chris Giordano says the fair will only be closed on Mondays this year to accommodate more festival goers.
