State Police Colonel Mike Edmonson says the Kansas City man who orchestraed an attack on law enforcement in Baton Rouge sought out locations to specifically target police officers. Edmonson says they recovered a rental car Gavin Long used, which is being analyzed for evidence, as well as the weapons Long had at the time of the shooting…

Edmonson says they are still trying to determine what the ex-Marine did prior to the attack and who he spoke with as they continue to investigate whether he had any associates who helped him carry out Sunday’s shooting that ended the lives of three police officers.

Three officers were also wounded in the attack. East Baton Rouge Sheriff Sid Gautreaux says one of his wounded deputies is in bad shape.

The man who authorities say planned the ambush on police officers in Baton Rouge, killing three and wounding three others, was seeking justice for the death of Alton Sterling according to his social media posts. In Gavin Long’s online postings, he says the best way to handle the shooting of Sterling by two white police officers was through more violence…:

Friends and family members of the Louisiana law enforcement officers who lost their lives are devastated today. David St. Romain is a local singer in Baton Rouge, and good friends with fallen Deputy Brad Garafola. Romain says Deputy Garafola was the school resource officer at Woodlawn High when he was a student there…:
