At a press conference during this hour, Governor John Bel Edwards says Long came to Louisiana to specifically harm our community. He called the shooting pure evil and diabolical attack on the very fabric of our society.

The public has started a memorial at the scene where three officers were fatally gunned down by a man identified by authorities as Gavin Long. A man from Orlando has placed signs that say peace and unity. He says killing is not the way to get justice…

Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge says that a deputy remains in critical condition at their hospital, while the officer that was reported in fair condition ahs been released.
