Two Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Deputies were shot while serving a felony warrant in Monroe. Sheriff Jay Russell says when the deputies arrived at the home of 26-year-old Rickie Wade, Jr, one went through the front and the other around back…:

Charges are pending against Wade. Both officers will undergo surgery.

Law enforcement is already mourning the death of 50-year-old Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Deputy David Michel Jr., who was fatally shot yesterday. JPSO Chief Deputy Craig Taffaro says it’s a sad day for the boys in blue…:

19-year-old Jerman Neveaux faces four charges including first degree murder, assault, battery on a police officer, and resisting arrest.

Governor John Bel Edwards highlighted the completion of Elmer Chocolate’s $40 million manufacturing expansion as Elmer Candy Corp. President and CEO Robert Nelson joined state and local leaders today to officially dedicate the expanded facility in Ponchatoula. In addition to retaining 164 jobs, Elmer Chocolate is creating 10 new direct jobs as part of the expansion, with an average salary of $42,500, plus benefits.
