Judge Wilson Fields has dismissed the lawsuit brought against Senator Mary Landrieu by State Representative Paul Hollis. The lawsuit claimed Landrieu cannot represent Louisiana in Congress because she is not a resident of the state. In his dismissal of the suit, Judge Fields stated that according to the Constitution, the lawsuit was filed too soon because residency can only be challenged once a senator is elected.

A new poll shows Republican challenger Bill Cassidy with a slight lead over Democratic incumbent Mary Landrieu. The Rasmussen Survey polled 800 likely voters, 44-percent suported Cassidy, while 41-percent said they would vote for Landrieu. LSU Political Science Professor Robert Hogan says the numbers don’t look good for Landrieu…

Nine percent of respondents say they plan on voting for someone other than Landrieu and Cassidy. The survey did not mention Tea Party candidate Rob Maness.
