Landrieu, who is in his second term as mayor, says his work in the Crescent City is not yet done.

LSU’s Pennington Biomedical Research Center Assistant Professor Dr. Amanda Staiano says they’re studying whether active video games can help improve health, especially in overweight children. She says boys and girls ages 10 to 12 will be part of the Game Squad study for six months.

Staiano says the goal is to get the kids active for at least an hour a day.

Today, a state judge will hear the lawsuit seeking to reverse the Louisiana High School Athletic Association’s decision to remove the Amite football team from the Class 3A playoffs following a bench clearing brawl in their quarterfinal win over Bogalusa. LHSAA Executive Director Eddie Bonine says sportsmanship rules clearly state that players who leave the bench area during a fight are automatically suspended for the next game…
