The gubernatorial runoff election is Saturday and Democrat John Bel Edwards and Republican David Vitter will spend the week making their case as to why they should be the state’s next governor. Edwards says if Vitter is elected, he’ll divide the state, keeping Louisiana from making great strides…

Funeral services for New Orleans music icon Allen Toussaint have been set for Friday at the Orpheum Theatre in New Orleans. Toussaint passed away last Monday after a performance in Madrid, Spain. Visitation will begin at 8AM Friday and will continue until services begin at 11AM. A private burial will follow. Toussaint was 77-years-old.

In the wake of Friday’s Paris attacks, Governor Bobby Jindal sent a letter to the White House requesting information on the number of Syrian refugees that have been placed in Louisiana. A total of 14 Syrians refugees were accepted into the state this year according to the State Department. Several internet blogs falsely reported that 10,000 Syrian refugees made their way into Louisiana this year. ISIS claimed responsibility for the Paris attacks which killed 129 and injured 350 others.

After over 8 million turkeys died from the bird flu this year, does that mean we’ll see a shortage of turkeys for the holiday season?…
