Former Addis police officer David Cauthron will serve ten years in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of manslaughter for a high-speed chase in Brusly that killed two teenagers on New Year’s Eve 2022.

The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office says it has charged 31-year-old Rameika Franklin of Lafayette in the March 2023 murder of Mark Hailey, who owned Fat Daddy’s Crawfish in Shreveport. Franklin faces one count of second-degree murder, one count of armed robbery and obstruction of justice.

At the state capitol today, Stonewall Representative Larry Bagley is expected to present his bill to the House Transportation Committee to eliminate the need for motorists to get a vehicle inspection sticker. Bagley believes the requirement is simply a money grab…
