In the first week of USA Today’s new 2016 GOP Power Rankings, Governor Bobby Jindal comes in at No. 13. Jindal is back in Iowa campaigning these week but polls there don’t show him with much support either. Political analyst Bernie Pinsonat says you can expect Jindal to remain in the race at least through the Iowa caucus and New Hampshire primary…:

In a Bloomberg/Des Moines Register poll, Jindal’s favorability was within the top 5 candidates which could be an indicator that the governor should be able to improve his standing in the Republican field.

State Police say a two vehicle crash in Tangipahoa Parish has claimed the life of an, as yet, unidentified bicyclist. Trooper Dustin Dwight says the victim was wearing dark clothing and they don’t believe the driver of the vehicle that struck the bike is at fault..:

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office announced today they now have a more narrow search on a suspect in the 2009 murder of a 19 year old teenager whose body was found in Moss Bluff. They say the suspect is believed to be a white male, according to new DNA technology, with green or blue eyes.
