The police chief in the small town of Georgetown in Grant Parish has been arrested after he allegedly collected a cash payment during a traffic stop. 51-year-old George Hinds has been charged with malfeasance. State Police is leading the investigation.

Orleans Parish D-A Jason Williams and his 76-year-old mother were carjacked last nightin the Lower Garden District. They were not injured.

The US House will try again later this morning to elect a new U-S Speaker. Ohio’s Jim Jordan is trying to secure enough votes….
