A federal judge will allow Louisiana to move forward with its plan to move about two-dozen troubled juvenile offenders from a detention center in Jefferson Parish to the State Penitentiary at Angola. The Bridge City Center for Youth has seen numerous escapes and fights and the state says in order to make the facility safer, they need to send some of the young offenders to Angola.

Lucille Fremin Babineaux, the mother of former Governor Kathleen Blanco, will be laid to rest today in New Iberia. Babineaux died last week at the age of 102. She was the matriarch of 105 people as she and her late husband, Louis, had seven children. One of her granddaughters, Monique Boulet, says she was with the former governor all the time in her final days as she battled cancer in 2019…
