Police in Houma say a local woman and her boyfriend are facing first degree murder charges, after officers found the remains of her 2-year-old son in a trash can. In custody are 28-year-old Maya Jones and 37-year-old Jermaine Robinson. Police Chief Dana Coleman says they had problems with Jones’ story from the onset and suspected foul play once they saw holes in her story. A New Orleans man is under arrest, after his baby brother got a hold of his pistol and shot himself. This happened Tuesday at a Costco gas station. NOPD says 18-year-old Zyaire Cornelius says he forgot the gun was in the back seat. The child will recover from a gunshot to the leg.
