On Monday a New Orleans judge put a temporary hold on a trigger law that bans abortion in Louisiana once Roe v. Wade was overturned. An attorney for the plaintiffs, the Center for Reproductive Rights says the trigger law is unconstitutional and vague and violates due process. But Sarah Zagorski with the Louisiana Right to Life disagrees.

A hearing on the restraining order is set for July 8th. Meanwhile, abortions can resume in Louisiana.

A bill to establish colleges as a “hunger-free campus” in Louisiana has been signed into law. University of Louisiana System President Jim Henderson says the legislation is designed to address food insecurities among college students.
