Hammond Representative Chris Broadwater’s legislation that would allow state colleges to raise fees for students advances from the state House. Broadwater says his bill would only make it easier for colleges to raise fees, within certain limits, and not affect tuition or TOPS whatsoever. The measure passed on a 79-14 vote and now heads to the Senate.

The American Automobile Association expects more Americans to hit the road this Memorial Day weekend than they have in the last decade.
