Baton Rouge Representative Ted James is stepping down from his seat to accept a federal post by President Joe Biden. James will serve as Regional Administrator of the Small Business Administration’s South-Central Region. Beginning January first, the flower or smokable form of medical marijuana will be available and legal for patients in Louisiana. A bill allowing dispensaries to legally sell the traditional form of cannabis passed in the regular legislative session this year.
