LSU is promoting Tigers quarterback Jayden Daniels as a Heisman Trophy candidate. Over 900 voters will receive a ballot today to vote for the prestigious award. LSU Sports Information Department Michael Bonnette has unveiled thatkidjayden dot com, a website that informs voters of all of his accomplishments.

LSU Quarterback Jayden Daniels finished off his Heisman campaign by throwing four touchdown passes in the Tigers 42-30 win over Texas A-and-M. Daniels was held in check in the first half as he only threw for 52 yards and rushed for 59.

But Early in the fourth quarter, LSU linebacker Greg Penn intercepted a pass setting up the Tigers’ offense at the Aggies’ 39-yard line. Three plays later, Daniels connected with Brian Thomas Jr. on a 23-yard TD pass as he made the grab over a defender. Daniels says that play got the offense going…

A very frustrating loss for the Saints yesterday as they fell to the Atlanta Falcons 24 to 15. Kicker Blake Grupe was responsible for all of their points as the rookie made five fields goals. New Orleans made five trips into the red zone and failed to score a touchdown. Coach Dennis Allen thought they had solved their red zone woes that hurt the team earlier in the year…

After allegedly escaping through a Southwest Airlines plane emergency hatch a passenger was arrested at the New Orleans airport last night. Prior to take-off while the plane was still at the terminal a man exited the plane and was apprehended after running away on the tarmac. The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office says he was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

A federal trial challenging the state’s legislative district maps begins today in Baton Rouge. The plaintiffs allege the House and Senate district maps dilute black voters voting power. A federal appeals court has already told the Louisiana Legislature it must redraw the Congressional map.

A recount takes place today in the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s race. Republican John Nickelson requested one after he lost by one vote to Democrat Henry Whitehorn. More than 43-thousand people voted in the race, but Caddo Parish Clerk of Court Mike Spence says they will only recount the 75-hundred mailed-in ballots, not the early votes or the ballots casted on election day…
