The Tigers have another tough game Wednesday night when they visit 10th ranked Alabama. The Tide walloped LSU by 30 points last month.

Tonight, the Pelicans host the Kings at the Smoothie King Center. Grambling meets Mississippi Valley State. The Delta Devils have yet to win a game in 14 tries this season.

Ragin Cajuns senior guard Cedric Russell was named Sun Belt Men’s Basketball Player of the Week today. The senior guard averaged 22.5 points and four rebounds in last weekend’s two-game series at Texas State. The Cajuns have won five in a row as they now sit in first place in the Sun Belt Western Division.

Louisiana Tech is in third place in the Conference USA West division after winning two games over Southern Miss last week. The Bulldogs will visit North Texas on Friday and Saturday. As the excitement of the vaccine rollout grows, the Better Business Bureau has a warning about sharing a photo of your vaccination card. Baton Rouge Better Business Bureau President, Carmen Million says people like to share about their lives on social media, but sometimes they share too much.

Million says it’s fine to share that you got your shot and suggests sharing a photo of your sticker that you were vaccinated, just not your actual card that contains personal information.

A fatal hit and run on Highway 165 on Friday night claimed the lives of two teenagers and has landed a Monroe man in jail.

The victims have been identified as 17-year-old Brianna Neal and 18-year-old Shedricka Hollins, both of Monroe.

Reichardt says if you strike a pedestrian, even if it may not be your fault, you must call 9-1-1 and wait for the authorities to arrive.

Both Hollins and Neal were pronounced dead at the scene.

Reichardt says the victims were crossing in the dark, and while crossing streets at well-lit intersections is preferable, if you must cross in a dark area…

Cormier, Andrew Eskine of Carencro, and Dalvin Wilson of Eunice are charged with two counts of first-degree murder. They allegedly murdered Brittany Cormier, Beaux’s sister, and Hope Nettleton on January 13th. The rape victim, Beaux Cormier’s niece was not killed.

Soignet says the Eskine and Wilson confessed to their involvement and learned that the two made previous visits for surveillance and attempted to carry out the murder before but were unsuccessful.

Nettleton who was visiting struggled with the gunman, and was also killed.

Soignet says they don’t get double homicides often, especially in the small community of Montegut.

The first incident occurred on December 23rd where three vehicles were burned. January 4th at the same location three were set ablaze while three others received damage. Finally on Friday Jackson allegedly tracked his ex to a friend’s house where he lit another vehicle on fire. It is believed this harassment goes back to at least October in Jefferson Parish.

Jackson was arrested Saturday, a day after the last incident. St. Tammany Fire Protection District One Assistant Chief for Fire Protection Jason Gobert…

Gobert says locking up Jackson has been a relief for the community, and the victim in particular.

A survey of state agencies discovers more than half didn’t have work-from-home policies before the coronavirus pandemic and struggled with technology challenges. After losing a hard-fought game to Texas Tech last Saturday, the Fighting Tigers men’s basketball team will visit 10th ranked Alabama on Wednesday. The Crimson Tide are coming off a loss to Oklahoma.

Former LSU star tight end Airk Gilbert posted on Twitter last night he’s transferring to the University of Florida. In eight games last season, Gilbert had 35 catches for 368 yards and two touchdowns. Gilbert will make his return to Tiger Stadium on October 16th when the Gators visit LSU.

An Allen Parish cemetery has changed a restriction in its contracts that only allowed whites to be buried at the site after the family of Darrell Semien a black deputy was denied a plot. Oaklin Cemetery Association President Creig Vizena says he hopes no family ever has to go through something like this again and has a request for all other final resting places…

The old contract read that it assigns the right of burial of the remains of white human beings. Vizena says the contract was rewritten to exclude the word white.

State Health Officer Dr. Joe Kanter says he’s heard many people raise concerns over the COVID vaccine’s impact on fertility. He says women of childbearing age should absolutely get the shot.
