Strong winds pushed the previous tarp away, briefly exposing the legs of a dead man. New Orleans Fire Chief Tim McConnell says it is not safe to pull the victim from the wreckage…

Pictures of the victim’s legs dangling from the debris made the rounds on social media Wednesday after the original tarp shifted. McConnell urged the public from distributing those graphic images…

McConnell says it’s unsafe to try the pry the man’s body from the wreckage, but they hope the remains of two of the victims who died inside the collapsed site will be recovered after a scheduled implosion in March…

Zion’s sensational three minute, 17 point 4th quarter outburst put the Pelicans up by three before he was yanked by the medical team as a precaution. He wasn’t happy about that…

ESPN caught Zion, as he was being taken out with just five minutes left, saying “Coach, I can win the game for this team. Leave me in”, but the med staff wasn’t having it.

Attorney General Jeff Landry is one of twenty-one Republican AGs filing a letter condemning the impeachment trial, urging the Senate to reject the articles of impeachment.  Landry says there are grave concerns about what he and other AGs have deemed a politically motivated impeachment process.

Landry says there is a complete erosion in the rule of law in the US Senate, adding that the articles of impeachment would not hold up in any court of law.

Cut 10 (10) “…justice and fairness.” 

Landry says the use of impeachment as a politically motivated retaliation will likely damage the American system of government for decades by weakening the separation of powers.

A miniature goat is found shot to death in Lafayette, leaving the family of the pet seeking answers.  Humane Society of Louisiana Director Jeff Dorson says it appears that the goat, known has Uncle Baby Billy Goat, was shot in the neck by either a .22 or pellet rifle and bled to death.

The family filed a police report upon discovery of the goat’s body.  Dorson says there is a statewide trend of companion animals being shot, almost weekly, with no clear motivation.  Dorson adds that such acts of violence can have a lasting negative impact.

The reward is currently set at $1300 for information that leads to an arrest.  Dorson says the state has very strong and strict provisions set for those found guilty of felony animal cruelty.

In Lafayette, a candlelight vigil will be held in honor of 17-year old Matthew Carter who was killed in an attempted armed robbery over the weekend. It will be held at 4 pm today at Comeaux High School’s football stadium.

In Shreveport, a man is now in custody after the Sex Crimes Unit launched an investigation into the alleged rape of a juvenile victim. Police have arrested 91-year old Otis Allen on first-degree rape. He was taken into custody by the US Marshal’s Office on January 17th and booked into the Shreveport City Jail bond was set at $250-thousand.

In college hoops last night, Nicholls remains at the top of the Southland standings after beating Houston Baptist 81-73. Stephen F Austin defeated Northwestern State 69-62. McNeese won its fifth straight beating Southeastern Louisiana 77-61.

Louisiana Tech is at Middle Tennessee tonight.

Saints General Manager Mickey Loomis says the team would obviously welcome the return of Drew Brees. But it will take a new contract as the 41-year-old is set to become a free agent in March. Loomis says he’s yet approach Brees about next season…

The human remains discovered in November by a hunter in Franklin Parish have been positively identified as Joshua Charles Berry, a Richland Parish man who was last seen in September 2012. The remains were found about a half-mile away from where Berry’s truck was originally found in 2012. No details have been released about the cause of death.

Monroe Mayor Jamie Mayo was involved in a car accident in Washington D-C when the taxi he was riding in was hit by another vehicle. Mayo is expected to resume his schedule today despite neck and shoulder pain.

A new tarp has been placed over the remains of one of the dead workers, who died when the Hard Rock Hotel construction site collapsed. The wind shifted the previous tarp exposing the dead man’s legs.

Joyce Julius and Associates says LSU earned more than 200-million dollars in free media exposure over the last seven weeks as a result of the Tigers winning a national championship. Director of sponsorship analytics Jeremy Creutz says while it may not be tangible dollars, the exposure can be parlayed into merchandise sales and interest in attending LSU.

LSU communications professor and longtime political staffer Bob Mann says the tradition started over 50 years ago by former Senator Russel Long for those Louisianans stuck in D.C. for the carnival season.

Meanwhile, hearts are broken in Lafayette over the death of Matthew Carter. The 17-year-old from Comeaux High School died yesterday from injuries he sustained when he was shot during an attempted armed robbery early Saturday morning. Police have charged a 13 and -14-year-old with first-degree murder. Carter has been described as a sweet and dedicated teenager.
